Coffee can cause heartburn for some people that are sensitive to caffine.
If it presists then I would quit or try decaf or Tums for the heartburn.

Yep, it sure can. Coffee is acidic so it can aggrivate or exacerbate any pre-existing stomach problems or even cause some if you're prone to them.

Folgers makes a "stomach friendly" coffee that you can buy at the stores (I think it has a green label) because it's less acidic. My father drinks it and he says that it works for him.

Yes, coffee can cause heartburn. If you love it and don't think you can live without your iced brew, you could try a few adjustments. Decaf may be gentler on your stomach. Try a smaller amount. Sixteen ounces is a big, walloping amount of coffee! Try an antacid before and after the treat.

If the Columbian coffee is a strong roast, then that may be a factor also. Hopefully, you can tweak it a bit and still enjoy your iced coffee. Just try a few changes.

coffee relaxes the muscles at the top of the stomach releasing excess acid, try drinking yerba mate, it will pick you up and help you sleep better without the side effects of coffee

I didn't get heart burn until I was about 30 weeks pregnant. And it sucks!!! I get it even if I haven't eaten anything yet. I would describe it more like a burning irritation in my throat. I have tums everywhere... I have some at home, in my car, at work and in my purse. Dr said tums are perfectly fine to take and are even good cause they have calcium.

It's actually in your throat. If you have ever had a burp where some stomach acid came up, that is what it feels like, but with a lasting affect. Tums will be your bestfriend!!! I never had heartburn before I was pregnant, but when I did get it, it was every day!! I was about 4 months along.
